Personal Quotes

You could put all the talent I had into your left eye and still not suffer from impaired vision.

I wasn't a sex symbol, I was a sex zombie

[on Marlon Brando] Our romance was short but sweet. He was on the dawn of a brilliant film career, and I was in the twilight of one. Of course, my career could never compare with his.

Veronica was married 4 times and had 4 children. .

Her breakthrough film was I Wanted Wings in 1941, a big hit in which she played the second female lead. She died July 7, 1973 after her years of struggles with alcohol and mental illness.

Kim Basinger adopted Veronica's look in L.A.Confidential.

During WWII the 1940's, she was a pinup star. She made many famous films with Alan Ladd.

Veronica Lake was one of the most beautiful actresses of her time, though her success was short lived, she was immensely beautiful with her blonde wavy hair and peek a boo style. She will be remembered as a talented and beautiful actress.

Pin up girls

These were popular in the early 1900's and men would look at them a lot and at war....This was before Playboy in the 1960's. Even burlesque dancing was poplular then as well. You could say it was a tastier and classier time, but who's to say? Back then it was pretty "fresh"!!! Have you watched "Some Like it Hot" with Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis? Now that's worth seeing especially if you're a fan of Marilyn. Boy was she beautiful also!! She had the body of about size 14 or 16 but back then it was normal and average. I'm one of those believers that you shouldn't be too skinny. And I feel there were less pressures on women back then as far as being super skinny. And the curves!!

Yes, there are many movies back in the 1960's that were nice with beauties who were natural, before breast implants. I don't know if you are old fashioned but I know men who are. My father used to say "If you can see every curve on a woman with the tight jeans and outfits, there's nothing left to the imagination..." Such were the thoughts of a man born in 1928!!

Musicals were very popular too, but lets not stay from Veronica Lake. She was one of many pinup girls but to one particular boy in the 60's, was the "prettiest girl I ever saw, the blonde wavy hair...and pretty face, I was in love". I think the Peek A Boo Veronica started is really cool ;-)
